The Bill and Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Prevention in Senegal, will co-host the second International Conference on Family Planning: Research and Best Practices from November 29 to December 2, 2025, at Le Méridien Président in Dakar, Senegal. Building on the success of the inaugural event held in 2009 in Kampala, Uganda, the 2025 Conference will once again unite global participants to exchange research, share best practices, and discuss progress on national strategies aimed at delivering family planning services. The ultimate goal remains universal access to family planning, a crucial component in advancing global health and well-being.

Detailed guidelines for abstract submissions can be found in the Call for Abstracts section. The Conference invites a wide range of professionals, including researchers, program managers, clinicians, parliamentarians, policymakers, jurists, and journalists. Co-sponsored by over 30 international organizations, including USAID, UNFPA, WHO, the World Bank, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, this event promises a collaborative and impactful experience.

The program will feature an opening plenary session, multiple concurrent oral sessions, special panel presentations, poster sessions, luncheon roundtables, and an exhibit area. Journalists will have access to a media support center throughout the event. Additionally, organizations will have opportunities to host side meetings and skill-building workshops before and after the main Conference.

The Conference will be conducted in both English and French, ensuring accessibility for participants from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
